السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
This past Saturday BIC kicked off its Badbaado project with a wonderful Opening Ceremony.
Our keynote speaker, Sheikh Abdirazak Hashi delivered a powerful and moving lecture that inspired and motivated those in attendance. He spoke of the importance of building a House of Allah by highlighting that the first thing Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did was build a Masjid. This example truly resonated with those in the audience who could be seen visibly nodding along in agreement.

All segments of the community were very well represented at the event and spokesmen from various organizations and groups took the stage to directly address the public and express their feelings of excitement and support. They also shared what they perceived to be upcoming obstacles and gave great advice on ways to overcome them.
By the grace of Allah, fundraising was a grand success as men, women, and youth pledged various sums of money to the project.

BIC would like to thank Allah SW first and foremost because He is Most Worthy of Praise. We would also like to thank the speakers who spoke passionately, the organizers who worked very hard to put this event together, and all of the attendees (those who contributed financially and those who did not). A special 'thank you' to the mothers who not only helped host the event but also worked diligently to make sure this inaugural ceremony was a great success.

Finally, as Muslims it is evident that our efforts are insignificant without the help of Allah. Thus we pray that He blesses this endeavor and accepts from us our Duas. Allah will never abandon us so long as we hold fast to His rope, together, as Muslims.

Jazakum Allahu Khayr and May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon you all.
